A Material Odyssey Gallery Exhibition

The Project Challenge

Find a local museum exhibition whose visual system could be elevated through a more cohesive design approach, applied across narrative, environmental, and digital deliverables.

My Approach

For this project, I created a cohesive visual identity for A Material Odyssey, an exhibition of Cai Guo-Qiang’s gunpowder works. The deliverables included a book catalogue, museum signage, and a mobile app, each designed to reflect the ephemeral quality of his art. Inspired by his use of texture, organic forms, and muted earth tones, the system translates these elements into clean, understated layouts that guide without overpowering.
