My Approach

For this project, I developed a cohesive visual identity for A Material Odyssey, an exhibition of Cai Guo-Qiang’s ethereal gunpowder works. The deliverables included a book catalogue,museum signage, and a mobile app, each crafted to capture the ephemeral quality of his art. Drawing from the textures, organic patterns, and muted earth tones in his practice, the system translated these qualities into clean, understated layouts that guided rather than imposed. Design became a framework for listening to the art, not speaking over it, allowing the work to lead and the design to echo its presence.
